MEDIA GURU COMMUNICATIONS BRINGS YOUTH JOURNALISM PROGRAM TO SUMMER CAMPERS

July 2, 2008- Wake County, NC - Media Guru Communications designed and facilitated a youth journalism program for a Wake County children's summer camp, in partnership with the W.E.B. DuBois CDC, which provides services to families in and around Wake County.

Participants ranging from 10-13 years of age learned video photography, lighting, audio, writing, and presentation techniques in this eight session program, "The Power of Images: Journalism 101." The sessions reinforce teamwork, accountability, journalism ethics, First Amendment, and other related learning concepts, with emphasis on hands-on vocational training.

"I am honored to have had this opportunity to directly impact these kid's lives. I only hope they are enjoying the experience as much as I am," said Charles Martin of Media Guru Communications.

Children wrote scripts, designed graphics, and created storyboards for their final video presentation about their experience as campers.

Martin added, "This was unique for our company and opportunities like this that directly affect lives don't come often."
